In a SPOT of trouble?

| On

See what I did with the title there ey? Well, I literally was in a spot of trouble last week. It was a few days before my first day back at Sixth Form, when lo-and-behold, the biggest spot - probably the size of Jupiter - appeared at the top of my lip, right where everyone could see. It was so big and so red that even using my most heavy duty concealer couldn't hide it. And that, my friends, is when I started to panic.

I didn't want to return to see all of my friends looking like that, so the very next day, I rushed into town to my beloved Boots. Oh, how that shop is my saviour! It stocks a whole wall of spot vanishing magic creams and gels, I was in my element.

Luckily, everything I got was on offer - so my shop was especially cheap and cheerful!

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Exfoliating Face Scrub - £3.79
The first thing I picked up was the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Exfoliating Face Scrub - I picked three items in total from this range because it was 3 for 2. I have used this around three times now, and each time has been pretty good. Nothing brilliant, it won't make your skin as smooth as a baby's bum, but it does the job, and is especially nice to use on spot prone areas.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Treatment Gel - £2.99
I put this on after exfoliating, just before I go to sleep. I advise anyone using this to tie your hair up when putting it on and whilst you wait for the gel to sink into your skin - it takes it time folks. When you first put it on, it sits on your face for a while so you look pretty shiny, however, you just have to sit and be patient for a few minutes and ta-daaa, you wouldn't even know it was there. I do believe that this has kept the spots from appearing in other places on my face.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Spot Wand - £3.59
I'm afraid to say I haven't had the chance to use this too much, this is purely down to the fact that I purchased another, more powerful spot cream. However, I do use this, when I can remember to, in the morning. It's pretty light and absorbs into the spot quite quickly. I like how there are two ends to the wand, where you have an option for the day and an option for the night - it makes it very handy indeed! Unfortunately, the day one is the only one I have used, so I am unable to judge this fairly. I do think that it has helped fight the spot a little in the day, but the next spot cream has done all the hard work...

Freederm Fast Track Spot Gel - £5.49 BUT is on offer in Boots for £3.66!
This is the star of the show folks! Luckily, I got mine on offer in Boots, and I believe it is still ongoing, so if you have a mother-trucker of a spot like I did, I strongly advise you to purchase this spot gel. This spot gel is definitely more heavy-duty, so I put it on just before I go to bed. It works on the spot really well over-night, so well in fact, that the spot had gone down by the time I woke up. It's incredible! My spot didn't disappear completely the next-day, but the results were amazing. It was tonnes better - more like a Pluto than a Jupiter.

I've used all four of these products over the past week, and I'm very pleased to say that the spot has now completely gone! So, I would recommend using these products together for a fast result. However, if you're only looking for one, just get the Freederm Fast Track Spot Gel - the stuff is magic!

I hope I helped any of you guys out, please let me know of any other spot remedies that you think could be better - sharing is caring! As always, thank-you so much for reading, and also, thank-you for being so patient. I know it's been a while and I'm slacking, but Sixth Form is taking up all of my time at the moment, but I try to post as often as I can!

Priceless, Lovely Day

Yesterday, I had a wonderful catch-up with one of my oldies (meaning my oldest best friend/sista from anotha mista). After having spent quite a lot of money in the past for catch-ups with other friends, I hadn't a penny left to do anything fancy with my long-time bestie, Florence. I felt awful, however we still managed to have a lovely afternoon out in our hometown.

Generally, our town is very boring, and it still is. But with the right company, and finding a pretty spot to sit and chat, staying in our town didn't seem that bad at all!

Living by a river can give you some pretty splendid views - and no, it doesn't produce the beautiful, post-card pictures that the lakes and rivers will give you in Alberta, Canada, but it still isn't a bad place to find a bench to sit and chat!

I thought this last picture of Flo looking somewhat deep in thought (or moody & bored - I'm kidding, we were having a good ol' gossip and chat, like the lil' old ladies we are) seemed quite fitting for what I'm about to say/type. Yesterdays gander around our town made me realise that you really don't need to spend any amount of money to have a lovely day. Just stepping out and exploring what your town has to offer, and to simply have a catch-up with a friend can be just as wonderful as galavanting out of town and spending tonnes on food.

If you're worried about money and being able to have a nice time with your friends, perhaps suggest a chilled day in a park or sea-front or something. You really don't have to spend a penny to ensure you have a great day!

Sorry guys, today was a bit of a different and slightly cheesy post. I promise to up my game soon, it's just very difficult at the moment as I am trying to finish off stuff for going back to Sixth Form. However, I do have a couple of future blog posts in mind, so keep an eye out (think skin-care and a potential haul/lookbook). Anywho, despite the different post, I hope this can motivate any of you to potentially make the most of your hometown and save some money!

Hope you all have had a lovely day, let me know if this post has somehow inspired you (can't think of a better word!), or if you just enjoyed reading it? Oh god, this has to be the worst ending to a blog post ever! ... As always, thank-you so much for reading haha!
